I think I mentioned somewhere along the line that I had started doing my sketches in a book … as opposed to loose leaf. This has changed the way I think about/approach my sketching. Before on the single sheets I used to think that a possible ‘major work’ was in the making. Now, in the moleskine journal, I am undergoing ‘exercises’ on a continual basis mainly inspired by a book recommended by Georgia Mansur

Georgia uses Daniel Smith watercolours and was recommending I try her ‘swatch’ of colours / her palette. She also recommended this book by Danny Gregory ‘Creative License’ which I got and find very good indeed. 

So I have been following his guidance and am really enjoying it. Here’s some snippetts from the last few days:
